Pie Crust
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 cup Unsalted butter cold and cubed
- ¼ cup Ice water
Filling
- 6 cups Apples peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg
- 2 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 tablespoon Cornstarch
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice water, tossing with a fork until dough holds together when pressed.
Divide dough in half. Shape each into a disk. Wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out one portion of dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Transfer dough to pie dish. Trim even with edge. Add apple filling mixture.
Roll out remaining dough to fit top of pie; place over filling. Trim, seal, and flute edges. Cut slits in top. Bake for 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.
Cool on a wire rack.
