Ingredients

Flan Base

  • 200 g Flour
  • 100 g Butter cold and cubed
  • 50 g Sugar
  • 1 Egg beaten

Custard Filling

  • 500 ml Milk
  • 100 g Sugar
  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Topping

  • 200 g Mixed Fresh Fruits sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar. Add cold, cubed butter and rub in with your fingertips until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  3. Add the beaten egg and mix until the dough comes together. Press into a flan tin and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool.
  4. For the custard filling, heat milk and sugar in a saucepan until just boiling. In a separate bowl, whisk egg yolks and vanilla extract. Slowly pour the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly. Return to the saucepan and cook over low heat until thickened. Let it cool.
  5. Pour the cooled custard into the flan base. Arrange the sliced fresh fruits on top. Chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours before serving.
