Main Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking soda
- 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon Ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup Unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup Granulated sugar
- 2 Large eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 1 cup Applesauce
- 2 cups Chopped apples
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and applesauce.
Gradually blend in the dry ingredients. Fold in the chopped apples. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
